Lune River Harp Studio seeks to inspire students to perform harp in the ways that they're most passionate, whether orchestral, classical, or contemporary music. Lessons are taught by Bethany Lancaster, and her goal for each lesson is to equip students with the skills they need to confidently and joyfully play the harp. She welcomes students of all ages and skill levels.
She teaches both lever and pedal harp, recommending that beginners start on the lever harp. For all skill levels, Bethany integrates aural training and theory into lessons so that the student gains mastery over all aspects of music. Her background in piano, lever harp, and pedal harp means that she has multiple tools for teaching, which include the two prominent harp methods – French and Salzedo – as well as experience with ABRSM, the British music education system. Getting access to a harp can be a major hurdle to trying out lessons. That is why Bethany is proud to offer two rental harps to her students, each rented on a month-by-month basis. New students are currently being accepted. Lessons are offered at Lune River Harp Studio (located in Walkertown, NC), online, or the student's home. In-home lessons incur a travel fee. |
